Look Both Ways: Illustrated Essays on the Intersection of Life and Design is a book about life, art, love, design, tunes, brands, poetry, shame, and even physics. In many ways, it is the culmination of over 25 years of working in the design business, and probably took its first shape when I began my radio show on design and culture, Design Matters, nearly five years ago.

Thoughts from the First Visual Storytelling Workshop

At 79NM, the blog of the School of Graphic Design at the at the Academy of Art University, a some thoughts from the students who participated in the first Visual Storytelling workshop: “‘This is a really good break from a stressful end of the semester. It doesn’t’ feel like work, it feels like playtime. When she talks to you, she makes you feel like you know her,’ said graphic design undergrad Beau Monroe.”
